TABUAERAN (FANNING) WEATHER DATA

The following weather data was collected at Tabuaeran (Fanning) atoll by the late Dr. Martin Vitousek, Ph.D., and is presented as being representative of a typical year, although it is not presented as an average of multi-year annual weather data.  Presented are the 1979 average daily temperatures and humidity levels, the monthly total rainfall rate, and the average quarterly daily wind speeds.  Raw daily weather data collected by Dr. Vitousek and spanning many years at Tabuaeran (Fanning) atoll, as well as at other atolls in the Northern Line Islands chain (Palmyra, Teraina/Washington, Kiritimati/Christmas, Jarvis, and Malden), is available upon request.
